BCU/UKCC Update - March 2007
Wednesday, March 28, 2007
As you would expect from Glenmore Lodge we have been working closely with the BCU with regards the development and implementation of the new BCU United Kingdom Coaching Certificate courses. You will have seen already that Glenmore Lodge has been intending to support the BCU in running some of the first BCU UKCC courses as they became available to be run.
The BCU have just changed the timeline for the implementation of many of the UKCC courses that we were hoping to run for the BCU this season. This is due the Sports Coach UK validation process and the time required to produce the appropriate resources for the new courses. The BCU feel that to put back the starting date of the new UKCC courses now is essential to ensure the coaches get the fully prepared and researched standard of UKCC coaching course they deserve.
This considered Glenmore Lodge have to cancel some of the UKCC courses. To still allow coaches to progress through the system the BCU are allowing the current BCU qualifications to continue to run until the UKCC courses start. Therefore Glenmore Lodge now has additional current BCU courses running throughout 2007. These dates are available on our website pages.
The new UKCC implementation timeline is as follows:
UKCC/BCU Level 1 - First Courses from 1st October 2007.
UKCC/BCU Level 2 - First Courses from 1st October 2007.
UKCC/BCU Level 3 - First Courses from 2008 (exact dates to be communicated during May 2007)
UKCC/BCU Level 4 - First Courses from 2008 (exact dates to be communicated during May 2007)
UKCC/BCU Level 5 - To be confirmed.
Current BCU Awards continuation timeline is as follows:

BCU Level 2 Assessment - Run until end 2010.
