
Queens Award for Voluntary Service

June 1st to 7th is Volunteers Week in the UK - a time to celebrate voluntary work in all sectors. Winners of this years prestigious Queens Award for Voluntary Service have just been announced and there are two from Scottish sport.
Scottish Winners: Basketballpaisley and Inverclyde Athletic Club
This is a group volunteering award and is viewed as being equivalent to an MBE. Please see link below and congratulate them if you come across them. Also if you do voluntary work of any kind in Scotland - well done! Here at Glenmore Lodge we try to support volunteers in the adventure industry by providing training at half the normal price in partnership with Grangers for a dedicated week in July . Providing a vital support to cancer patients, their carers, family members and friends in Keith and the surrounding area.
Lochside Theatre
Providing a community theatre in Castle Douglas equipped to high professional standards.
Multiple Sclerosis Centre Mid-Argyll
Providing accessible therapeutic services and support to people affected by Multiple Sclerosis in Mid Argyll and Kintyre.
The Wick Society
A museum which serves as an educational resource for local residents researching the history of the town and its past fishing industry.
