GLENMORE BIKE FEST 07

Monday, April 16, 2007

What a cracker of a day! Thanks to all of you whom attended and made the day such a success.

We had about 500 people here, young old and everything inbetween. Over 200
signed up to do the fantastic circuit that Carl and the team created on site, the egg hunt that Becky created with real eggs at the end and of course the races with great prize from Marmot and Alpine Bikes. There were loads of demonstartions and showcasing of skills over the mini obastacle courses in the centre of the arena and those from the under 6's to the over 60's were using the see-saws, drop off and logs all day. Fantastic! Not forgetting the workshops with Al and Andy teaching new tricks and the mechanics workshops with the boys from Alpine tweaking parts that need tweaking......

The Lodge team were out in force with Frosty's bike birm creations in the gear stors, Matt's team on the case with food and drink, office team and facilities and nightwatch organising the parking the marshalling and the first aid gang with Heather Shaun and Phil ready for anything. Fortunatley there were only 3 small scrapes on the leg and that was it. Trek Bikes were letting everybody feel how good it is to be on a top of the range mountain bike.

Already looking forward to Bike Fest 2008..........watch this space

I will be writing up the bike times of the competitors this week so keep a look out. I will also be putting up some photos that Kirsty took and loading them into the Image Gallery so go for a look some time soon.

An absolutely brilliant day - well done to everyone involved. Big thanks to Alpine Bikes for helping me to understand how to set up my gears and to Trek for the try bikes. Loved the indoor section and the new north shore - but my favourite was the 'water feature' especially when my mate fell in.... See you again next year???
